Step Away from the Screen!!!

Do you find yourself too often in one place? looking at the same screen trying to find inspiration?
Are you ever at times tired at the office sitting nine to five trying to work, trying to bring new ideas to the table.
Well, have you ever put into consideration that maybe its time to step away from it, and get inspiration elsewhere. perhaps, using your hands.

While we all may enjoy the advancement of technology and what is has provided over the past years, have we not been deprived off the opportunity to actually put our hands to use. yes, technology has made our lives better in many way than one, but how often do we get the chance to use our hands, to do something else other than typing. It doesn't take rocket science to inform one that sitting by a computer all day is killing you.
Have you ever watched how stressed people in the office look, how tense they get sitting in the office not moving an inch of their bodies besides their fingers.

Instead, make the abilities that you have been given to good use, use your hands to create something, use your feet where possible too and let your brain rest from all the fuss and deadlines that rain on your head in the office. You are capable of so much in life, use every possible limb in your body to put yourself to use.
In my scenario, I got a chance to do things a little different, instead of typing out the things that I love the most, I got to express it in a craft. I applied my love for sleep and my never ending love for animals to create ... a dog bed! I was very proud with what I had made, it was quite interesting to be able to put 2 ideas together to recreate something new, it might not have been the best dog bed in the world, but it was definitely hand made, I'm proud to say that my Jack Russell enjoys relaxing on it by the sun. It makes me feel so useful to realize my hands were really put to use.
In the book Steal like an Artist, Stanley Donwood goes to say how computers are alienating because they put a sheet of glass between you an whatever is happening, 'You never really get to touch anything that you're doing unless you print it out'.
