Art is theft-pablo picasso

There are many misconceptions as to what is art. What is art? is art being able to create something new?
I am going to explain it the best way I know how, Art is recreation.

You see, what your brain forgets to tell you is that for you to create something, you must've seen something similar or something that influenced it before. there is nothing that is made from dust without the influence of your surroundings.  the best pieces of art come from pieces that are already existing, Like Jonathan Lethem once said that when people call something 'original' nine out of ten times they just don't know the references or the original sources involved.
In order to be a successful artist, one must embrace the influences that help them achieve their outcomes. In order for us to make something beautiful we must accept that there are influences around us that have led us into our recreation.

According to Steal like an artist(2012, pg.1) ''Immature poets imitate; mature poets steal; bad poets deface what they take, and good poets make it into something better, or at least something different, The good poet welds his theft into a whole of feeling which is unique, utterly different from that from which it was torn.''
